Lithographic Print:
4 colour process
4 Aliminium plate will be printed spepratly in each colour these
will then be placed onto a roller which is then coated with the
correct ink - the paper is then fed through the machine and the
appropriate colour printed the sheet then goes on to the next 3
colours giving a full colour by the end this process is particularly
cost effective if used for reasonably large runs. For example
digital print is better for small one off runs because they cost less
to print. You will benefit more using lithography if trig to cut cost
on a large run as you will only pay a fee for the aluminium and ink.
To get the most value for money on the lithographic printer it is ideal
to have pages of 8 , 16, 32 etc in terms of a publication. Before printing
you should ask the printer you intend to use there sheet size so you can
plan accordingly.
