OUGD504 Brief 3 - Foiling exploration

For my cover I want to foil my design I firstly practiced
this to see which foil worked best with both my design my
book and my concept. I have tried out 4 foils;

- copper -      
 
Similar to gold it has come out grainy more so then

most of the results this is effective swell as the gold

but gold is more relevant to the brief because of the 

colour and its links to type in the past such as gold

 leaf type signs.
- gold -  
       
 I feel this is the most relevant and effective result

 even though it is grainy it fits in with the hand crafted

 concept and is 2nd best result to the blue foil.

- holographic -

This was the least effective result as with the initial
practice with foiling although it leaves an interesting
glittery effect although this is not the effect which will

 compliment my book.

- blue -            

This was by far the best outcome from the foiling although
the results were very good it was hard to read on my chosen

stock.
