OUGD504 Brief 3 - Content Editing

After reviewing my current images in my book I felt they lacked
consistency to create this I considered editing my images with a
high contrast into a set colour scheme;

Black & White

Although black and white adds consistency and fluidity to my images
I feel this is not showing any ability towards the content of my book.

Duo Tone

My book is all about personalisation and hand crafting. I have explored
using duo tone I learnt this over the tutorials into print, this technique
adds character to my images without taking away the personality of the
type. It is also different to the almost always black and white back up,
I have used a combination of navy blue and black to create this duo tone.
I used these colours because of the contrast more specifically the
connotation of graft, growth, knowledge and stability - because most of
the type photographed in my book is based on its age it seems like a
strategic move towards duo tone for both my book and expanding my skills
in photo editing. Duo tone also is a cheap way of printing with only
the use of 2 colours this publication, meaning only 2 inks are necessary.
