After deciding on what makes us british I have researched into British wildlife and what is included in this, "wild animals collectively; the native fauna (and sometimes flora) of a region."
There are many animals habitable in british wildlife, unfortunately many are often put at risk due to humans such as man made problems like roads and hunting. Often animals are threatened in there home - British wildlife is important and needs to be saved many are close to extinction or protected such as the puffin. I have looked at both the animals and there settings e.g. habitat.
Information about and surrounding british wildlife:
Foxes:
Foxes are one of the most well known wild animals in the UK, they are native to Britain. The fox is also a known member to the dog community which is distant to the wolf and are just a little bit bigger than a cat and they can live up to and around 14 years. Foxes can live almost anywhere forrests, countrysides, and even in busy towns. Foxes unfotunatley are one of the most hunted animals in Britain for sport there is currently a law in place to prevent this but unfortunately some people still continue to do this.
Badgers and their setts (tunnels and chambers where they live) are protected by law.
You may be able to get a licence from Natural England if you can’t avoid disturbing badgers in their sett or damaging their sett. Badgers themselves are short legged omnivores, Badgers usually live underground in burrows - it is unlikely you will see a badger. Badgers are also nocturnal which means they are more vulnerable to moving traffic as they cannot be seen.

Puffins:
Puffins are a particularly endagered species found near water, the puffin can be identified by its brightly coloured and large beak. puffins have a hungry appetite for fish and can be found on british coast lines. The reason there is not many around is because there source of food is diminishing this is because of humans eating it all! Save the beautiful Puffins.
Red Squirell:
The red squirrel is native to britain but is slowly diminishing due to the american grey squirrell this is because the grey squirrel being more dominant. This is unfortunately taking over the population of the red squirrel this leaves the future of the red squirell uncertain. Unfortunately I don't believe much can be done other than the force of grey squirells to be counteracted but in response no animal should die for no reason.
