OUGD505 Module Evaluation
This module has been particularly challenging for me, I have learnt how to use skills I have learned through out the year - In particularly researching appropriately and applying it to a concept, concepts are become glaringly clear that they are needed to create success in work. I feel like I am progressing as both a person as a designer, I believe I am beginning to analyse more thoroughly and critically but still feel there is room for improvement.
Some of my strengths in this module is my professionalism, I feel i am becoming more confident in my designs and stronger in my conviction. I am becoming less doubting in both my work and myself this is really big step forward for me. I also feel that my time management is becoming confident, I am managing my time really effectively and learning that this is key to productivity and successful work.
My weakness this module would have to be evaluating my work, I still feel I am not writing as critical as I could - I intend to work on this over summer and next year as I wish my writing and evaluating of my work to be as strong as my design.
my favourite of the 2 briefs would have to be 'product range and distrubiton' this has allowed me to explore something I am interested in and apply it to graphic design, this brief has allowed to me to have a little more freedom and less restriction in what I do. Because of the this brief I have gained and enjoyment for publication design although still favourable to printing.
next year I would like to do more printing and publication design, as I feel this is were I am more confident. Not only this but I would like to work on my weakness's.
Overall I have enjoyed this module as it has allowed me to explore my own practice further rather than being directed, I like the freedom to design something I want.

OUGD505 Brief 2 - Evaluation
This brief has been a big eye opener to me. I enjoyed learning about my subject thoroughly although it was difficult at times to come to terms with as it is quite a sensitive subject. When researching for this brief I learnt more about campaigns and the strategies and tactics used to engage and audience - one of the most effective ways of campaigns were shock tactics as i have talked about these before my blogging.
My campaign was really informed by research and this shows often in other briefs a concept has not been clear - once getting my concept my ideas flowed freely, because my concept was so strong I didn't struggle creating content and there is still room for me to expand my project in the future.
Overall I enjoyed this brief i feel i have created something both positive and professional, the tone of voice is both friendly and stern, if i were to do anything differently it would be to do some more collateral I feel I could of created an app swell this would be really effective for my target audience. One thing I didn't do well was my design to research ratio - I believe i put in too much time researching and less time designing although my outcome is successful it would of been valuable to explore my process' further.
OUGD505 Brief 2 - Personal Attack Alarm/instructions
Inspired by my whole campaign I felt it would be appropriate to use a personal attack alarm as part of my pack. Using my logo I applied a sticker to the personal attack alarm to make it relevant to the campaign, these could be given out at universities and colleges even UCAS fairs. Alongside the alarm it is important to have a clear guide on the ins and outs of how to use the alarm. Using the document that came with the actual alarm I re-wrote and appropriated the information, using my colour scheme and design.
OUGD505 Brief 2 - Stickers
After creating both my guide and posters, to expand the campaign I made some stickers which could be used to advertise, It could also be placed onto packs to be sent to the Universites or students.
The stickers themselves where created with the logo. The logo speaks volumes which means it could be easily applied to other material to support the campaign.
After creating the stickers I explored how I could use them, by getting hold of a variant of envelopes and parcels, these where to help me explore how I could send my campaign out. The most appropriate envelopes were foiled, and black envelopes because of the consitency of colours - it would of been great to get hold of a semi transparent envelope this would be a fab way of sending out my campaign to students and uni's.
OUGD505 Brief 2 - Website
Alongside my poster campaign and leaflet/guide I felt it was appropriate to create a website too - this will target the age range of students so not only can the information be accessed while at uni but can be accessed at home too.
There are several features in my website design such as the 'Quick hide me' button upon clicking this you will be rediverted to google, if it all you felt umcofortable when looking at the website and someone came in the room.
Additionally to all the information in my guide I have created 2 extra pages called 'report a crime' and 'university and student pack' the pack page will be were universities and students can request packs for either themselves as students or for the actual university these will be free of charge, ideally this campaign would be funded by the government or universities themselves. All my supporting materials are cheap to acquire apart from personal attack alarms but these would be well worth the purchase. Moving on the 'report a crime' page will allow users to report a crime in confidence to the police, this will be done with support of a councillor. This page is for those who feel confident enough.
